We have started framing our new built in entertainment center. Being carful to stay with our 1940's theme, we keep the lines of the unit simple. Note the accent lighting in the ceiling to help showcase this piece.
Hand cut arches are added to the unit to blend with the archwork we did in the rest of the room's door openings.
Lookin good...
Crown mouldings and some white primer / paint brings the design into focus. Adjustable shelves are added, and the cable, power, and phone lines are roughed into the back of the unit. The lower opening is prewired for a future gas fireplace.
We add another set of shelves and a pair of hand made doors to the built in entertainment unit. The removeable shelves can make way for a future glass fireplace with little effort.
